William Archer
Director of Technology
William Archer is Event Director for both AIDS Walk Ft. Lauderdale and
AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
In April 2006, William helped reintroduce AIDS Walk Ft. Lauderdale for
the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and other HIV benefiting organizations in
Broward County, Florida. AIDS Walk Ft. Lauderdale raised more than $360,000
in this initial year.
AIDS
Walk Los Angeles was, and continues to be, one of the largest
fundraising events of its kind since its inception in 1985. Under
William’s leadership, AIDS Walk Los Angeles is a driving force in both
registered walkers and money raised. In 2006, 30,000 AIDS Walk
participants raised a record $3.7 million.
Prior to being named Event Director, William served as Manager of
Information Technology for MZA Events. In this role, William worked to
ensure the stable operation of the organization’s in-house, multi-city
computer network.
Prior to joining MZA Events, William was National Account Manager at
Clear Channel Interactive, acting as the liaison between all of the
company’s advertising assets. William also worked as the Manager of
Movie Strategy and Development within Tribune’s Entertainment Products
Division where he integrated promotional and sponsorship packages.
William enjoys living 6 months on each coast with his family. An
avid music buff, his collection boasts more than 3,000 CDs. In his spare time, he
enjoys camping, hiking, and frequenting his favorite local Los Angeles
hangout, the Farmers Market.
William holds a BA in marketing with minors in business and
advertising from California State University, Fullerton.
